TANABATA Bento Box launched on Wednesday, July 2nd

Summer has arrived in New York City.

In Japan, Tanabata (七夕), or the Star Festival, is celebrated on July 7. It honors the tale of Orihime and Hikoboshi, two lovers separated by the Milky Way who can reunite just once a year—if the skies are clear. People write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo branches, filling streets and homes with vibrant decorations. It’s a celebration of love, hope, and fleeting connection.

To celebrate this meaningful occasion, Chef Hiroki Odo has created a Tanabata Bento, inspired by the romance of the stars and the elegance of Japanese summer. This special bento features a harmonious variety of seasonal dishes, both refreshing and vibrant, crafted to delight the senses.

Chef Hiroki Odo and the team have hidden elements of the Tanabata story throughout the ingredients. Can you spot them?
